It wasn’t necessary to stand in the street to wave him down, but finding a free moment in Mr. Frostie’s schedule was a challenge. It is ice cream truck season and Mr. Frostie’s is often booked. David Rollo, owner, is a loyal member of the Port Jefferson Station/Terryville Chamber of Commerce. You’ll often see him and his truck at our events serving cool, creamy refreshments.
Mr. Frostie’s has been busy at school field day events and end of school bar-b-ques. Year round he is called to serve at Teacher Appreciation events, food truck fests, weddings, corporate and private parties, charity events and more. He was recently at the Cohen’s Children’s Hospital fundraiser. At our June 28 Off the Rails Metal Music Festival he will be selling ice cream. Mr. Frostie’s is a crowdpleaser!
“I joined the Port Jefferson Station/Terryville Chamber of Commerce to connect with the community. The events at the train car are good for networking with other business owners, and my parents often attend the chamber’s monthly member meetings on my behalf,” David explained.
You can say ice cream is in his blood; his father had an ice cream truck in the 1960’s on, into the 80’s. When David was middle schooler he helped out on the ice cream truck. As a high school senior he would get out half days and work selling ice cream. In season, he would often be at it from 1-9PM.
“Eight months after graduating I bought a truck and started my own business.”
You will see Mr. Frostie’s this summer at Amara’s Butterfly Foundation fundraiser in Patchogue. At charitable functions he will either give a percentage back to the organization or sell ice cream at a 20% discount. Imagine what he can do for your next event! He is highly sought after.
Come to the Port Jefferson Station/Terryville Chamber of Commerce Free Summer Concert Wednesdays in July at the Train Car Park and get a cold, sprinkled sweet ice cream treat. You’ll be glad you did. Call him today 631.236.8031. Find him on instagram, frostiestruckli and on Fb, Frosties Ice Cream.
