The Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce meet with Councilman Kornreich at the Train Car Park fence, newly installed by Town of Brookhaven.

The PJS/T Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors review the plans for paving inside the Train Car Park. Parking spaces will be enhanced.

It is hoped the Town Parks Dept. will complete the stage and other improvements by July for this season’s ‘Summer Concert Wednesdays’, which will include a BMX show, and on August 3rd, Shakespeare in the park. We are always working with our local electeds for our members. The Train Car Park provides ample networking and free table opportunities for members. Stay tuned.

This environmental improvement should be celebrated, and since this is a ‘1920’s baggage train car’, it is a centennial celebration. J

Roll with it

When life gets too much, ‘roll with it, baby’. That’s what Steve Winwood told us in 1988. In ’75 we took direction from Grateful Dead’s, ‘roll away the dew’. In the 70’s and 80’s there were a couple fun places to see cover bands in Port Jefferson Station and uptown Port. The good news is there’s a new music venue at Port Jeff Bowl in the Lucky Strike Bar & Lounge.

For months now the cozy watering hole, Lucky Strike Bar & Lounge, has been serving up hot bands on Friday nights. Holly Zink, Social Media guru for Port Jeff Bowl, and the Youth Bowling Program Coordinator explained, “The new owner took over in April 2022 with the intention of providing the best of bowling combined with the best local music venue.” The place has been hopping. To improve the musical performance space, owner Charlie Lefkowitz has plans of renovating the lounge in the coming year. Stay tuned for the future line up and a cool reveal.

Speaking of cool, Port Jeff Bowl is a refuge in summer. Now is a great time to sign up the kids in a league. There are opportunities for children 6-12, and a teen league with a more competitive edge. Sundays, Port Jeff Bowl offers a Family Fun League. Teams for this league consist of four bowlers -that’s two adults and two kids. New this summer to Port Jeff Bowl is Teen Night, every Saturday 6PM to midnight from June 17th through August.

Holly explained, “Exciting things are happening at Port Jeff Bowl. I’m happy to share all our news and network with the Port Jefferson Station/Terryville Chamber of Commerce.” Let’s roll!

Look for Port Jeff Bowl specials, leagues, and music updates on TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat. Call 631.473.3300, email mail@portjeffbowl.com or stop in 31 Chereb Lane, Port Jefferson Station.

Jenn at the Keep Pride Rally
Welcome Community friends,

We are gathered here today to keep PRIDE in Port Jefferson Station.  We LOVE our Community!  Our community has so many wonderful things to offer and the best local businesses around.

We can not let bad publicity of our local area lower our expectations of where we live, work, shop, and play! We as a community are better than that.

The local business in this area and shopping center are hurting. They need the support of the community! Even though some of you choose to not shop here any longer, these wonderful local businesses still donate their time, money, and goods to our schools, churches and other organizations that we belong to. Think about that!

The small business is the back bone in every community and when an area within is threatening their livelihood, we the community need to say that we will not let that happen. Let our Voices be heard and our Presence be known that this community will be here to support our local businesses,  no matter what!
