Commerce. Christine Fernandez and her husband Eduardo joined the chamber two years ago
as they launched their dog wash and grooming business. Both passionate dog lovers, they brought
decades of experience in animal husbandry and dog breeding to their venture. Paws in Puddles
made a splash at their well-attended grand opening in Coram. “The Port Jefferson Station/Terryville Chamber of commerce helps us get noticed, connect, and network,” Christine shared recently.
Drawing on a lifetime of love for dogs and a desire to, “have something for myself,” Christine tapped into childhood memories. “Growing up, my father owned several businesses, always supported by chambers of commerce and small business organizations. My mother exclusively groomed her own dog. Starting Paws in Puddles felt like a natural step for us,” she explained.
Their shop features brand-new, immaculately clean facilities with large, raised tubs. Paws in
Puddles offers a variety of services tailored to your needs: full grooming, staff
wash, and self-wash options. DIY enthusiasts can choose from regular or sensitive skin
shampoos and use of amenities such as waterproof aprons, leash holders, non-slip mats, fluffy
drying towels, and easy-to-use blow dryers. Clients who ‘self-wash’ six times receive their
seventh wash free.
Paws in Puddles is committed to giving back to the community through their partnership with the non-profit organization Hope for Cleo, hosting monthly dog adoption events.
