Insurance is “All in the Family” for our member, Stephanie Sgroi. Stephanie has been the State Farm agent in Port Jefferson Station, since 2002. She teamed up with her husband David Kirshner nine years ago and they employ their cousin and kids, among others. David tells me that referrals are the lifeblood of their business and they reward their customers who refer a friend or family member.
“I love what I do, every single day. I have a fantastic, diverse team and each brings a different perspective and strength to our business,” says Stephanie. Their staff includes four bilingual agents, including an agent who speaks Mandarin.
State Farm has been a member of the Port Jefferson Station/Terryville Chamber of Commerce for years. David says that their membership allows them to network, share best practices and provides an opportunity to invest in this community. Not only are Stephanie and David active members, their son has earned community service hours volunteering at our business to community events at the Port Jefferson Station/Terryville Chamber of Commerce Train Car. Stephanie Sgroi sponsors the local Polar Plunge event, raising money for the New York Special Olympics. They have also funded with State Farm, the refurbishing of damaged vehicles, donating them to charities such as Hope House Ministries and local veterans.
