Meet Kristin Winter the new Membership Director of Port Jefferson Station/Terryville Chamber of Commerce. A lucky eight years ago, Kristin opened the TD Bank at 86 West Nesconset Highway in Port Jefferson Station at Old Town Road. She is V.P. and Store Manager.

Hers is one of seven TD Bank locations in Brookhaven Town and 1,200 on the east coast from Maine to Florida.  I have been inside the Toronto Dominion bank, which is open seven days a week and the staff is friendly.

“We are unexpectedly human,” says Kristin. “We have the longest hours, and you can bring your dog in if you want.  We are open every Saturday and Sunday, which is when many people have the time to get things done.” In fact, ‘Unexpectedly Human’ is a trade mark for TD Bank which boasts that their employees live and work where their customers do. Their customers enjoy 24/7 online banking and a live twitter feed.  If you feel like opening an account in the middle of the night, you can do that too

Kristin says she is looking forward to bringing in new members to the Port Jefferson Station/Terryville Chamber of Commerce and deepening relationships in the neighborhood.

In addition, something TD Bank does that addresses respect and humanitarian issues today, is what Kristin describes as The Ready Commitment- the TD Enterprise-wide citizenship commitment to building an inclusive future where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. Financial Security, a Vibrant Planet, Connected Communities and Better Health – TD bank supports these drivers, striving to contribute to social and economic development in sustainable ways. Kristin says they are not just interested in building the better bank, but a more inclusive communities. Sounds good to us.
