Friendly and forward thinking. That is Wesam and Bob Rodriguez, owners of Po’ Boy Brewery LTD. On a rare day off they opened the doors to host the Port Jefferson Station/Terryville Chamber of Commerce monthly member meeting. Thank you for a great night!
Bob is a passionate brewer dedicated to the growth of local craft beer. The brew-master founded Po’ Boy and the couple hung out their shingle on January 27, 2017 in Port Jefferson Station. Bob, the Po’ Boy himself, brought with him a stellar reputation from national home brew clubs and a win in the 2013 Brewers Cup. Wesam’s expertise is management, aesthetics and social media. The brewery is set up with 20 taps, tree lined walls, board games, cozy nooks like the Sour Patch Lounge, and a fire place. Their recent Mardi Gras party included ‘sew your own voodoo doll’ art project that kept people in stitches. “We like to put smiles on faces. The crowds like creative activities,” Wesam said as we filled a doll with stuffing while a fantastic band played.
Satisfied customers have been logging in and voting for Po’ Boy, in the Bethpage Best of Long Island competitions. They garnered wins in 2020, 2021, and in 2022 won Best Craft Beer Brewery, Best Beer Selection, Best Bar and Best Bartenders on Long Island. “This community has embraced us in ways we could not have imagined. We enjoy great relationships here and support from the Port Jefferson Station/Terryville Chamber of Commerce,” said Bobby. It goes both ways! Po’ Boy has brought a hip, vibe to our station nation and a level of brew knowledge and customer care you’d expect from an old friend.
