The Station’s Wing King
Kyle Bothe, owner and operator of Long Island Wing King food truck has been creating extraordinary sauces for years, and bringing his scrumptious fare to the Train Car Park. They are an active member of the Port Jefferson Station/Terryville Chamber of Commerce. We caught up with Kyle for a chat and a snack at his food truck, at the corner Rose and Lamport Avenues, Port Jefferson Station, by VFW Post 4972.
The first thing you’ll notice about Kyle is his helpful and happy outlook. It is evident he loves what he does. “I worked on my sauces for years”, he explained showing off his immaculate kitchen. Perfecting his buffalo wing sauce, created with a remarkable depth of flavor, had launched his culinary passion into a business.
“My family always supported me. I love cooking up different flavor profiles, and they sample it all. I had a vision for a food truck, and with my step father’s help, my business dream became a reality,” says Kyle. “I joined The Port Jefferson Station/Terryville Chamber of Commerce because they’re open minded, with great suggestions and easy rapport,” he added. “They think out side of the box.”
L.I. Wing King is one of the vendors at our concerts at the park and annual Train Car Lighting in December. Summer or winter, we can count on Kyle. His food truck is a one stop shop for tasty sandwiches, mac-n-cheese bits, mouthwatering array of saucy wings, from traditional flavors to Korean BBQ. Add ons, like a snack-hording fried pickle appetizers, will hook you for good.
