2023 Engaged and Forward Thinking
Our work and advocacy with Comsewogue High School Virtual Enterprise and Business Department benefits our members and the future of our community. Our directors and members participated in breakout groups to advise, listen and learn. It is a Win-Win.
Exciting-thanks to our partnership with Comsewogue School District Business Department we learned of an exciting opportunity.
The Work based Learning program at Comsewogue library – offers school credit for students who work in these areas – offering internships in: STEM, Heathcare, Law and Business. Think-unpaid Mentorships, job shadowing, or paid work.
New-If there is a student’s household meets a criteria in Suffolk County, the county will pay the student rather than the business.

Polar Express Success
What a huge success! Our Port Jefferson Station/Terryville Chamber of Commerce does it again! A series of four business to community events- culminated on Sunday Dec 16, 2018 with the final viewing of ‘The Polar Express’ movie nights, inside our antique chamber train car at the corner of NYS RTE 112 and 347- offered with all the trimmings including ‘I Believe’ jingle bells tied in ribbon like those in the film, – gifted to all children, plus Polar Express Movie poster-backdrop Portraits, as well as those with Santa who surprised children at the close of the film – photos which families access from our pjstchamber.com site. This and more all due to extraordinary organization skills of our chamber Vice President, Larry Ryan, manager of Port Jeff Bowl and support of Chamber directors.

Jenn at the Keep Pride Rally
We are gathered here today to keep PRIDE in Port Jefferson Station. We LOVE our Community! Our community has so many wonderful things to offer and the best local businesses around.
We can not let bad publicity of our local area lower our expectations of where we live, work, shop, and play! We as a community are better than that.
The local business in this area and shopping center are hurting. They need the support of the community! Even though some of you choose to not shop here any longer, these wonderful local businesses still donate their time, money, and goods to our schools, churches and other organizations that we belong to. Think about that!
The small business is the back bone in every community and when an area within is threatening their livelihood, we the community need to say that we will not let that happen. Let our Voices be heard and our Presence be known that this community will be here to support our local businesses, no matter what!

Small Business Development
Local institutional resources include graduate students and faculty, who provide valuable services to the Small Business Development Center. With this advantage, the Center in turn provides assistance in resolving organizational, financial, marketing and technical matters for small businesses as they encounter them. By assisting new and existing business firms, the Small Business Development Center at Stony Brook contributes to the stability and growth of the small business sector and the economy of Long Island.
